Recreating Pinterest Photos

Recreating Pinterest Photos

Im just going to put it out there straight away, here is my Pinterest, follow me & Ill follow you if you have a similar account : )

I spent the day with one of my faves, Darcy, and both loving photography we thought it would only be right to spend the day taking photos! Herself and sister both compete for the best Instagram, so we were on a mission for the “artsiest” photos! Obviously I took a ton of photos of her, but I don’t want to be sharing photos of other people on here, so Ill show you the photos she took of me.

After searching through Pinterest for all the photos we wanted to recreate, we started off by heading to the nearby park. There was a really cute photo of a girl on the swing, and we decided to recreate this one first. It was very difficult to get a similar angle while keeping the background clear of people & buildings so we improvised! The below photo is the original, and the following one is ours.

The two photos are obviously pretty different, and I prefer how I edited mine, but I do wish we had the same forest background as the original! I wish I could show you the photo I took of Darcy for this one because it is SO CUTE.

For the next photo I really wanted to recreate the below image of a girl in the upside down splits. However ours failed for several reasons! First of all, we didn’t have monkey bars in our park, so instead of my arms being either side of me they are on the same pole which is REALLY difficult. Secondly I hand’t warmed up, and it was really cold outside making that even worse! Overall it was kind of a fail, but it still kind of (ever so slightly) worked!

I also did the splits the opposite way around, and didn’t point my toes, which trust me will haunt me for the rest of eternity. Lets just say it was difficult and there was a lot going on! Plus I burnt my hands which really hurt.

Update: I found a park with the correct monkey bars, so you can bet your arse I tried it again! AND I think it actually turned out pretty well!!

This next photo is one we had seen a while ago and couldn’t track down the original. The below image is similar, but not quite the same as the one we tried to recreate. We used face paint to paint our wrists, I was the moon and she was the sun. I love how this one turned out, and I just think it is so cute! I actually love how this one turned out, and I think it actually looks better than the original photo shown here!

This last photo I have wanted to recreate forever! I think my version looks really good, however it is not very close to the original. For mine I had to take the photo on my bed as I don’t have decking. It was also WAY too cold to wear shorts/dungarees (plus I haven’t shaved ;). AND I didn’t use acrylic paint on my hands, I used face paint and painted a flower vine on one hand & arm, and then splattered it on the other since I am not ambidextrous.

My photo is also taken closer up as I had to set up my camera myself and wasn’t able to get it high enough without another persons help! I definitely want to do this one again in the summer as I think it would just look SO CUTE.

Anyway, those were all the photos we ended up recreating! I also took a few others that I am just IN LOVE with and have put those both on my Instagram and Pinterest, so make sure you are following me on both! I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed creating these! Photography really is just my favourite thing! I think we definitely need to step up our game a little more though!
