Faith Photoshoot

I have just started a new project at my University for semester two, and today I did my first photoshoot for it. A Faith photoshoot. My theme and idea behind the project is Identity, more specifically; a physical identifier that symbolises an emotional story.

For this photoshoot I photographed Faith, and her eyes. Her emotional story being about anxiety, therefore photographing the window to the mind. I really enjoyed doing this photoshoot, and I think the photographs turned out so well.

The use of real flowers and a bandaid symbolises how delicate the feelings of anxiety are on the inside. As delicate as a flower. I chose to photograph Faith’s eyes as I find them so unique (not that everybody else’s isn’t), and they have a special sparkle in them.

Originally coming up with this shoot idea was difficult, I knew I wanted the theme to be identity, but I wasn’t sure how to go about it. I may still chop and change my mind, but I’m currently exploring the idea of using a unique physical characteristic to help explain an emotional identifier on the inside (that being Anxiety for this particular shoot).

Which photograph is your favourite?

I think this is a beautiful photo shoot. Eyes are truly a window to the mind – so picking that certain feature to photograph is very clever. You have an exceptional mind, I never would be thought to use flowers as symbolism! But it works so well. Hope you get a really good grade for this 🙃
