Its days like these I remember forever. I am a simplistic gal, and it doesn’t take much to make me the happiest person. When a normal school day ends differently to usual I always remember it, and being in Canada makes this a whole lot easier. I remember the day we went to the cinema late at night and our car broke down, I remember the day friends came over for the evening & we had a bachelor party (who else loved that show?), and the day we spent the afternoon making pottery at the art studio. As well as the day we were locked out of the dance studio, or the time there was a power cut and the lights all went out mid-class, and the day we went canoeing after school. I remember all those little things, and this day is another one of those.
I live by lake Ontario and downtown (in our city; 10 min drive), is where we spent the afternoon. It is finally starting to warm up, so shorts it was, and ice cream a must. My favourite ice cream shop is Marble Slab, I could literally write a whole post on them (maybe I will), but for now I will just leave it at; BEST PLACE EVER. Personally I got strawberry ice cream with cookie dough, chocolate chips, and butterfinger mixed in. This is literally my signature ice cream, while Darcy got unicorn ice cream and some other bits mixed in, all in a cone (Im not sure what Isabella got!). The ice cream was SO GOOD.
We walked for 2 minutes from the shop to the lake, and sat on some rocks chatting and breathing in the fresh water air. You all know I love photography so it was a perfect little photo opportunity. The water so blue and clear, it was beautiful!
We then proceeded to walk down the pier towards the lighthouse, continuing to take photos. It was still a little chilly by the water, but it was such a perfect afternoon spent with friends. It is amazing how an escape to the lake, ice cream, and a camera can make someone so happy!
What does your perfect, minimal afternoon consist of?
