High School Graduation 2018

It feels like only yesterday I was moving to Canada and starting grade 9. I still remember my first timetable; Math, English, Geography, lunch, French, Gym. And my very first day. The first friend I made was Sam, and she was in my math, english and geography class. From there I proceeded to make so many amazing friends I wouldn’t trade for the world.

But today I graduated. I have seen my school for the last time, and said goodbye to all my friends. My school, though it may have been sketchy, was amazing. I loved absolutely everything, and shockingly, I actually enjoyed school (it was so much more chill than the UK, and I actually understood shite).

I am the absolute luckiest person to have had the opportunity to learn in and about, Canada. Canada is my home, and I will spend the rest of my life visiting and travelling every province. It is the most gorgeous country I have had the pleasure of getting to know, and the people are unbelievable.

Graduation was like something out of a movie, high school musical perhaps? It probably helps that our school mascot is also the wildcat! We had the cap, gown, walk across stage, shake hand, hold position for an uncomfortable amount of time while parent takes photo, and exit down the stairs (after walking around the plant pots, lol), shazam. The full monty.

The high school band also played the graduation song which was absolutely beautiful! What a talented bunch of individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting!

I wish absolutely everyone the best, I know you are all going to go on and do amazing things. I believe in every single one of you, and I hope to come and see you all again soon. Thank you for an absolutely amazing adventure, and for teaching me all about Canada. I may still be learning, but I know silly things like ‘double double’ is a coffee with two milks and two sugars, a loonie is one dollar, eh just goes on the end of every sentence, and beavers do actually swim in the local ponds.

I hope you all come and visit me in land o’ rain England, and Ill teach you all about our country; chuffed, miffed, numpty, s’later, and bobs your uncle. Im not even taking the mickey. ; ) And yes, it does actually rain everyday : )

I also just want to say a huge thank you to my amazing friends and family who bought me graduation gifts, I didn’t know that was a thing (Im still learning!), but words cannot express how grateful I am, and the love I have for all of you. Simply because I want to remember, I received a Pandora graduation charm from Jen, Issy and Darcy, daisy chain earrings (that match my friends) from my parents, and a lovely card and money from (American) Jennifer (as we call her : ).

I am petrified for this next chapter, and starting again in England. I am thankful to never have to take math and science again (academics was never my strong point ; ), and I am so excited to spend everyday learning about cameras and photography. Bring on the creativity.

My favourite quote from our principal today – “Don’t stress the small stuff. Its all small stuff.” 2018

This isn’t goodbye, simply see you later, eh?

Good luck and congratulations! In England right now it has been BURNING (I think you’ve heard from Zalfie’s vlogs). But actually I could do with a bit of rain! It is quite relaxing when you are not just hoping for 30 degrees – and we don’t even need to wish for that right now.
I believe in you too, and thank you for the love very post, quote and pictures.
Have a wonderful future! I hope it holds you love and stability.
    God bless xx

    Congrats on your graduation!

Unrelated but ss someone who grew up in Asian countries, I found it amazing that schools like in Canada or the US allow students to wear makeup.

Anyway, good luck on starting your life back again in England! I’m sure you’ll be doing just fine x
