Toronto Island Adventure | 2018

Back at the beginning of the year I said that to conquer anxiety I really wanted to go into Toronto on my own (with friends, just without parents haha!). Anxiety always held me back from things like that, but my timeline was getting smaller, since I moved back to the UK July 1st.

I rounded up a group of my best friends; Darcy, Issy, Christina and Anastasia. We made plans to take the train into Toronto, then take the ferry to Toronto Islands and go to Centerville. Toronto Islands was something I had to do one more time, with or without my parents.

I am extremely proud to report it all went excellently, and I loved every second, and with minimal anxiety. We started off by meeting at the train station. We were all there on time, with time to spare, and suddenly we were all alone. The train arrived, and luckily we made it into Toronto.

The streets were busy, but we found our way to the ferry terminal to get to Toronto Islands. This was also very straightforward! When we arrived in Toronto Islands, I instantly recognised everything, and it felt like home. We quickly grabbed some lunch at Pizza Pizza (my guilty pleasure), before taking a walk down to centerville.

We bought enough tickets to go on one ride each, and there was one ride in particular I knew everyone would LOVE. The ride is called Scrambler and it is AMAZING, also very worth it for a 2 minute ride, which is rare!! Everyone loved the ride though and I had a blast.

Next we walked down towards Ward Island as it has a GORGEOUS view point of the Toronto skyline. We obviously took pictures, because why not? I also just want to mention that there were huge sprinklers on the way that you could not avoid, so we shrieked as we ran through them to the other side. I want to remember that because it was such a fun moment! Luckily there was a heatwave so it was rather refreshing.

Next we went to the beach for a quick dip in the water, more photos, and walked down the pier. It was gorgeous and the water was freezing!

We then made our way back into Toronto and grabbed Beaver Tails, which I have actually never had before. How bloody stupid of me to try them as I leave Canada, Beaver Tails come backkkk. We actually met up with our mums at this point because they went into Toronto earlier to go sailing together. We did not see them until this point though.

We all then hired power boats and went sailing around the islands together. It was absolutely amazing and a day I will never ever forget. I love these girls and Canada so so much and I promise to be back soon. I can’t leave my home forever right? ; )

Aww that sounds amazing! I wish I could do something like that! My first big adventure was when I went on holiday with my cousins and grandparents when I was five years old. I was so nervous because I hadn’t been away from my parents before, but I had a blast! I hope you had fun!

Sounds like an amazing day out! Haha, I had one of these too recently. I went up to Manchester to watch Mamma Mia! The Musical with my cousin/friend/person. It was a perfect girl’s day out, and despite the big crowds my anxiety levels were low down.
I’m so happy that you managed to have a low-level anxiety day too!
    All the best,
    Erin xx

Toronto looks amazing and the sky is so blue. Well done for doing it without parents, I always panic when I can’t find my mum in the supermarket haha. I think the biggest thing I have done with just my friends is going to London but would love to go abroad with friends one day (just got to get some money haha). Lovely post and I am glad you had a nice time. xx

Lovely photos, the sky looks so blue. Congratulations on doing it on your own. The biggest thing I have done with my friends is going to London which can be stressful as it is so busy haha but I was in charge of maps and we only got lost once so I think that’s a success.
Great post and I am glad you had a nice time. 😊 xx
