Back in April, I stitched something a little different to what I usually do — and it turned out to be a really special project. For my partner’s cousin’s baby shower, I hand embroidered three muslin cloths as a gift. Since the baby’s gender was a surprise, I kept the designs neutral: a sweet bunny, a graceful goose, and some bees with leafy details, all stitched onto soft yellow muslin squares.
The reaction was so lovely that it’s since led to a custom order for another set of muslins. This time, I embroidered a bunny, a goose, and the baby’s name across three blue cloths. It made such a thoughtful, personal gift — and I realised how embroidery can bring something extra special to everyday baby essentials.

Why Choose Hand Embroidered Baby Gifts?
Hand embroidered baby items make beautiful keepsakes and practical gifts all in one. Here’s why they’re such a wonderful idea:
- Completely Personal: Whether it’s an animal, floral design, or the baby’s name, embroidery makes each piece unique.
- Gender-Neutral Options: If the parents don’t yet know the baby’s gender, designs and colours can be kept soft and neutral.
- Perfect for Any Occasion: From baby showers and christenings to first birthdays, embroidered gifts feel extra thoughtful.
- Practical but Pretty: Everyday items like muslin cloths, bibs, or blankets become treasured keepsakes.

What can be embroidered?
So far, I’ve worked on muslin cloths, but embroidery works beautifully across a wide range of baby items, including:
- Bibs
- Blankets
- Baby grows and tops
- Tiny jumpers
- Nursery decor hoops
Each piece is stitched with the same attention to detail I give all of my work, making sure it’s safe, soft, and long-lasting.
Quality & Care
I only use high-quality base pieces from trusted suppliers, which means everything passes the necessary safety standards for little ones. The embroidery itself is stitched with high-quality floss and stabiliser for durability.
For care, I recommend handwashing and air-drying where possible, but items can also be machine-washed inside out in a delicates bag — because I know baby things need to be washed often!
Custom Orders Only
While I’m not launching a full “baby section” in my shop just yet, I love taking on custom embroidery requests for baby gifts. If you’d like something stitched to celebrate a new arrival, just get in touch — I’d be delighted to create something personal and one-of-a-kind.
